Reports To: Principal Engineer

Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: San Diego, CA - Onsite

Hours: 2:30pm-11:30pm PT

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

• Maintain existing relationships through proactive engineering and problem-solving to generate revenue.

• Deliver Best in Class customer service to uphold raving fan culture.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical problems onsite.
• Onboard the new client’s users, according to standard procedures, documenting the client’s infrastructure for review and use by all engineering team members.
  

• Provide timely resolutions of system and/or application problems and follow through to completion. 
• Assist in documentation and training to enhance client experience.

• Install, configure, and maintain network elements, computer systems and other related equipment.
  

 

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES

• Support and execute client IT initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and special projects as assigned.
• Assist with the planning, implementation, and ongoing support of client technology solutions.
• Recommend appropriate technology solutions and assist with preparing project scopes and quotes that align with client requirements and budgets.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, servers, workstations, and other IT systems and equipment.
• Accurately document work performed, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and client communications within the ConnectWise ticketing system.
• Provide remote and onsite technical support and engineering services as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve client environments, system performance, security, reliability, and overall IT operations.
• Escalate complex technical issues appropriately and collaborate with internal teams to drive timely resolution.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies, industry best practices, and company standards.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS

Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:

• Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or similar platforms
• Experience administering and supporting Windows Server environments
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, including Microsoft Azure and AWS
• Proficiency with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
• Experience supporting macOS environments
• Strong desktop, end-user, and remote technical support skills
• Proficiency with current Windows client operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11
• Experience with Professional Services Automation (PSA) and/or Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms
• Knowledge of networking, troubleshooting, security, and systems administration
• Relevant technical certifications preferred, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP, or equivalent current certifications

 

 

TRAVEL

• This role requires full onsite presence at the client site to support in-person collaboration and operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees may be exposed to heat, cold, sharp edges, metal racks, high voltage outlets, and normal electrical cabling in the office and closet environments.
