Systems Supervisor

Electrical & PLC Systems Supervisor works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product and support daily productions activities. This is a supervisory position, which would include the daily support of plant maintenance personnel. Management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations and equipment installation is also required. Duties And Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the Electrical & PLC Systems Supervisor’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial plant setting Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective action Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties Plans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees Supports and encourage employees to work safely, efficiently and effectively Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned Qualification s:In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the followin tsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fie ldWorking knowledge of motor controls, VFD’s, DC drives, Eddy Current Systems and/or Modicon system desi gnInstallation, set-up and programming of PLC’s (Allen-Bradle yAbility to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD softwa reProcess control systems – set-up and program applications (Honeywel lInstrumentation and calibration knowled geFacility power distribution to include voltage up to 4160v, three-pha seKnowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and coolin g)Knowledge of control systems and sub-syste msTwo to three years of proven supervisory experien ceMust be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional suppo rtApproximately 5-10% overnight trav Preferred Requirements ntsPackaging industry experie nceElectrical Journeyman’s Certificat ionExperience in a high-speed manufacturing environm Competencies iesAbility to work independently or with a teamStrong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative appr oachMust be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box”Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate pe pleExcellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi- taskExcellent oral and written communication sk illsStrong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, e tc.)
