Senior Software Developer

Role Description

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for writing and maintaining source code, creating and maintaining software applications, and applying frameworks involved in a software release. The Senior Software Developer will support the deployment of new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of the functions, strategy, and operations under limited supervision and will provide guidance to more junior members of the team.

• Develop applications using Java, Struts, JavaScript, Velocity, Android Studio, Flutter, and Oracle SQL
• Develop using technologies such as HTML5, CSS, jQuery, MVC, AJAX, and XML
• Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality
• Design and develop user interfaces
• Support development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms
• Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools
• Perform QA for pre-deployment activities
• Utilize Agile development methodologies
• Responsible for computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing
• Involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle, resulting in a software product
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or equivalent discipline and 6+ years of relevant work experience OR 8+ years of experience without a relevant degree
• 5+ years of experience with Java and JavaScript
• 3+ years of experience with SQL
• Experience with Web application development and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Struts 1, Velocity, Oracle 12, and Bootstrap
• Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems
• Secret Clearance

Requirements

• Strong working experience in all phases of the SDLC, and EW data analysis/library products to support automated tool development is strongly preferred
• Must be well organized, an effective communicator at multiple levels, and able to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications
• Must be capable of quickly learning new systems and associated software applications for proficient execution of tasks
• Must be capable of managing multiple projects with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment
• Must be able to speak effectively before groups of internal and/or external customers or employees
• Ability to use version control and collaborative tools
• Ability to travel
