Specialty Clinic - Northwest Houston, TX (77065)

About:

We are partnering with a specialty clinic in Northwest Houston to hire an AR Specialist to join their Revenue Cycle team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of the full revenue cycle who can work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details:



  • Location: Fully onsite - Houston, TX (77065)
  • Pay: $17-$21/hour (DOE)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Dress Code: Business casual
  • Type: Contract-to-hire (520 hours)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and research unpaid insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement
  • Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts receivable (AR) claims
  • Prepare and distribute patient invoices and billing statements
  • Perform routine billing functions, including payment verification and account reconciliation
  • Process insurance claims by reviewing documentation, securing authorizations, and confirming coverage requirements
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies through communication with patients, insurance providers, and vendors
  • Support collections efforts, payment processing, reporting, and general administrative duties as needed
Qualifications/ Must Have Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Solid understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payment posting, and full-cycle Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
  • Skilled in accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, including government and commercial insurance, as well as self-pay collections
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Calm, compassionate, and professional
