Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

• Assignment Length: 9-12 months
• Coverage Needed: 6-8 call shifts per month
• Multiple part-time locums accepted to help fill the schedule

• Active Washington License - Required
• IMLC Accepted
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (if required by facility credentialing)
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Full-scope OB/GYN
• Comfortable practicing independently while on call
• Experience with:
  • Vaginal deliveries (routine and complicated)
  • Cesarean sections
  • VBAC management
  • Ectopic pregnancies
  • D&Cs
  • OB inductions
  • Emergent gynecologic surgery
  • Fetal heart rate interpretation
  • Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
  • Post-operative rounding
  • Admissions
• Comfortable supervising and assisting CNMs and Family Practice OB physicians when needed
• Must be comfortable caring for both low- and high-risk OB patients, with stabilization and transfer of higher-acuity cases when appropriate

• 24-hour call shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
• 20-minute response time
• Call covers:
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Emergency Department
  • OB/GYN hospital call
• Clinic responsibilities included when not responding to call
• Average 18 clinic patients per day
• Admits required
• Post-operative rounding required

• Critical Access Hospital
• 25-bed hospital
• Labor & Delivery:
  • 3 L&D beds
  • 4 postpartum beds
• Level I Nursery
• Level I Trauma
• Approximately 20-30 deliveries per month
• Patient mix:
  • Approximately 90% low-risk pregnancies
  • Approximately 10% high-risk pregnancies
  • Approximately 20% surgical gynecology
• High-risk patients transferred to tertiary care when appropriate
• Work alongside:
  • 2 OB/GYN physicians
  • 2 Family Practice OB physicians
  • 2 Certified Nurse Midwives
  • L&D RNs
  • CRNA anesthesia support
