Specialist - GIS

Summary Performs GIS related responsibilities for assigned areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists in the effort supporting the Regulatory Required calculation of Class Location, Managed Segment (HCA/MCA) areas for all company assets and coordinates with Operations personnel to ensure projects are completed on time. Participates in RegulatoryAudit activities and assists Pipeline Integrity Services and Corrosion Services groups in planning data migrations, training, and application support. Supports mapping services to Business Units, including Marketing, Tax, Executives, and provides technical expertise for services related to pipeline information and GIS systems. Performs updates to the Corporate GIS Database with As-built records, maintains compliance data, and creates ad-hoc maps and reports on an as-needed basis. Creates geospatial overlays to produce data sets for ad-hoc data requests. Supports applications deployed and maintained by the GIS group. Requirements Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bachelor's Degree in GIS or equivalent experience; minimum 2-5 years of experience with the ESRI ArcGIS Platform. Thorough understanding of Class Location, Managed Segment (HCA/MCA) calculations as they apply to CFR Parts 192 and 195; knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS 10.x Desktop Software, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online. In-depth understanding of pipeline systems and general knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of relevant job-related experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the SQL database language and database manipulation, including schema editing and data importing. Knowledge of FME software and data ETL functions. Familiarity with ESRI Model Builder is a plus. Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
