NURSE - SUBSTITUTES

School Nurse Position

Qualifications: Must be a registered nurse and hold a valid school nurse credential issued by the State of California.

Specific Responsibilities: The school nurse shall be responsible for the health center and its services. The services include the following:

• Provide and/or supervising health appraisals.
• Providing health counseling for students and staff.
• Participating in special education SAT and EAS meetings.
• Supervising control and prevention of communicable disease.
• Providing and/or supervising emergency care for students and staff.
• Providing information for care for pupils with remedial health problems.
• Providing consultant services for teachers who teach health education units.
• Serving as liaison with community medical care facilities, doctors and other agencies.
• Supervising maintenance of health records as required by law and district regulations.
• Initiating and follow-up of parent conference concerning health problems of students.
• Performing other related services as assigned.
