Grade 21 Location of Position MDH Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD 21228 Main Purpose of Job A Registered Nurse Charge provides supervision to subordinate licensed and non‑licensed nursing personnel and support staff caring for patients in a designated unit on an assigned shift. This position assigns and evaluates nursing care provided to patients according to nursing standards, guidelines, hospital/nursing policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Education: As determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses. Experience: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, one year of which must have been in a psychiatric setting. Substitutions: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university in lieu of the one year of general experience. Hold a Master’s degree in nursing or a health‑related field from an accredited college or university in lieu of the required experience. Hold U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing & Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience. Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a valid multi‑state license in primary states of residence. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland if assigned duties requiring vehicle operation. Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation training. Special Requirements Must provide a phone number for call‑in duties. Subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Maryland regulations.
