70 people in the team Local County And reginal planning exp, NYPA, DEC , Meeting with local Govt and exp about Energy storage Book, Meeting Virtual & In person Writing memos, research component. Battery Moratoria to office services and low writing process 5 – 10 active community projects this person will be dealing with Grow Siting Team's impact/geographic coverage by hiring regionally-located contractor(s) to provide educational, engagement, and technical support for communities hosting or otherwise navigating clean energy project development. Approved regions within New York State; utilizing Regional Economic Development Council regions, all regions are approved except Mid-Hudson, New York City, and Long Island. Is travel required for this position? Yes, travel is required. The selected contractor must have a car and the ability to travel to municipal meetings, conferences, and other events as needed. This selected contractor will work with the Siting Team and its other resource(s) to ensure reasonableness of travel volume and distances, based on staff availability and locations. Is any equipment required to be provided by the contractor or will be provided by NYSERDA for this position? Contractor must have a computer, cell phone, and access to reliable high-speed internet What skills are needed to be successful in this role? Demonstrated experience in a public-facing role related to planning/zoning, sustainability, clean energy, or related fields (e.g. previous roles could include environmental or energy consulƟng, environmental non-profit, regional planning organizaƟon, or working for a developer or other industry stakeholder in a public-facing capacity) Ability to draŌ wriƩen correspondence, memos, and guidance documents for local governments and stakeholders Public speaking ability, and competency with giving presentaƟons and leading virtual or in-person engagements with local governments and stakeholders Ability and willingness to travel; must have a car and be able to travel to town meeƟngs and events as needed. Preferred qualifications: MA in a relevant discipline; see above list of examples 5+ years of relevant experience, incl. project management/oversight experience Education, Certifications, Degree requirements Minimum qualifications: BA in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to: environmental science or policy, regional or urban planning, environmental engineering, public policy, etc. 3+ years of experience in a public-facing role related to planning/zoning, sustainability, clean energy, or a related field IT systems that will be used MicrosoŌ Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams) Virtual meeƟng plaƞorms (Teams, Zoom, Webex) CRM plaƞorms, including but not necessarily limited to Salesforce (Possibly) Geospatial mapping and data plaƞorms (e.g. ESRI products, QGIS, etc.) Tasks: Local government and stakeholder engagement: In coordinaƟon with and/or at the request of the SiƟng Team, assist local governments and various stakeholders with quesƟons or needs pertaining to clean energy planning and development, including wriƩen and verbal correspondence, virtual or inperson meetings and calls, presentations, and drafting memos/guidance documents SupporƟng resource/training development: As requested, support the SiƟng Team in developing public-facing tools, resources, and trainings on relevant topics SupporƟng engagement planning/execuƟon: As requested, support the SiƟng Team in developing and execuƟng public-facing clean energy engagement opportuniƟes Provide objecƟve technical support and assistance: Work to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for clean energy project development, seeking to maximize community parƟcipaƟon and educaƟon around clean energy, with a focus on project-agnosƟc support centered on technologies and broader educational/planning efforts - (As needed) Collaborate on cross-team or cross-agency projects relevant to Clean Energy SiƟng Team work Other duƟes as assigned that contribute to the key outcomes of the Clean Energy SiƟng Team #J-18808-Ljbffr Morph Enterprise
