Job Title: Welder Job Description
We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team. You will be responsible for using hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, as well as to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
Responsibilities- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Examine workpieces for defects and ensure they conform to specifications.
- Weld using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt components to required configurations and positions.
- Determine required equipment and welding methods based on metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating or distortion of materials.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Mark or tag materials with job numbers and identifying marks.
- Chip or grind off excess weld and remove rough spots from workpieces.
- Prepare material surfaces for welding by removing foreign matter.
- Preheat workpieces prior to welding or bending.
- Develop templates and models for welding projects based on blueprint information.
- Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, and hand tools.
- Check grooves, angles, or gap allowances using precision measuring instruments.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum alloys.
- Minimum of 1 year of welding experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical School Certificate in welding (desired but not required).

Work EnvironmentYou will work in a fabrication shop that, while enclosed, is not climate-controlled. Expect a typical fabrication shop environment—dirty, rough, and tough. Openings are available for 1st shift, Monday through Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime opportunities on Fridays and Saturdays. The role involves 95% MIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pulaski, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
