Resident in Counseling (Part-Time/Full-Time)

Soar Therapy and Integrated Wellness is an outpatient mental health and wellness practice serving adolescents (13+) and adults throughout Northern Virginia.

We are seeking a full-time Resident in Counseling who is committed to professional growth, open to feedback, and passionate about helping clients create lasting change. STIW provides a structured, supportive environment in which clinicians receive ongoing guidance, training, and operational support as they develop the skills needed for long-term success.

Position Details

Full-time, hybrid position

• Three in-office days per week required
• Availability between 10:00 AM-6:00 PM or 11:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Target caseload of 26 client sessions per week

Part-Time, hybrid Position

• Availability during one of the following scheduling blocks:
• 10:00 AM-2:00 PM , or
• 2:30 PM-7:30 PM
• At least two workdays must be in office. The third workday may be remote
• Opportunity to increase caseload over time if desired.

Compensation

• $42-$52 per clinical session

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults
• Maintain a target caseload of 26 client sessions per week for Full Time
• Maintain a target caseload of 15 client sessions for Part-Time
• Complete documentation within established timeframes
• Develop and maintain treatment plans that support medical necessity
• Participate in supervision, consultation, and training activities
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with Virginia regulations
• Collaborate with team members to support client care and engagement

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Counseling Psychology
• Active Virginia Resident in Counseling or eligible for Virginia residency
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to receive and apply feedback
• Commitment to professional growth and ongoing learning
• Professionalism in communication, appearance, documentation, and client care
• Reliability, accountability, and follow-through
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Experience working with adolescents and adults preferred
