Licensed Veterinary Technician or Vet Tech

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician or Vet Tech to join our team at East Dallas Veterinary Clinic, located southwest of the Ferguson Road and Lakeland intersection. As a part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional animal health care duties and assisting our veterinarians with various tasks.

Job Summary:

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Vet Tech, you will be expected to perform a variety of animal health care duties, including:

• Assisting veterinarians with exams, surgeries, and medical procedures

• Taking vital signs, such as temperature and pulse

• Administering medications and vaccinations

• Collecting and processing lab samples

• Providing emotional support and care to patients and their owners

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists veterinarians with exams, surgeries, and medical procedures

• Performs venipuncture, urinalysis, and other laboratory tests as needed

• Assists with pharmacy operations, including ordering and maintaining medication supplies

• Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment

• Provides exceptional customer service to clients and their pets

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of a veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA)

• One year of experience in a veterinary setting, preferably as a licensed veterinary technician

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
