About Our Team:

AtLeggett & Platt, ourCorporate Tax Departmentplays a critical role in ensuring compliance across global operations while supporting tax strategies that enable sustainable growth. The team manages a broad range of tax responsibilities—including sales and use tax, property tax, and international filings—for a multinational manufacturing organization.

We partner closely withFinance, Legal, and Operationsto uphold accuracy, transparency, and fiscal responsibility across the enterprise.

About the Role:

As aTax Intern, you will gain hands‑on exposure to full‑cycle corporate tax processes within a global organization. From preparing returns and processing payments to conducting tax research and supporting audits, this role goes beyond clerical work and offers meaningful, real‑world experience.

This internship is designed for students who want to apply classroom knowledge, contribute to impactful projects, and build a strong foundation incorporate tax operations.

So, what will you be doing as a Tax Intern?

• Assist withcorporate income tax compliance, including tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and income tax accounting

• Conducttax researchand support special projects related to tax matters

• Help identify, research, and assess various tax issues, providing insights to senior team members

• Assist with responses totaxing authority inquiriesand audit documentation

• Maintain organized tax records and supportprocess improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with team members oncross‑functional projects and reporting

• Perform other duties as assigned

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Completion of at leastone college‑level accounting course

• Currently pursuing aBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field(preferred graduation date: May 2027 or later)

• Familiarity withMicrosoft Exceland basic data analysis

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Willingness to take initiative and learn in a fast‑paced environment

Things we consider a plus:

• GPA of 3.5 or higher

• Prior coursework or experience intax, accounting, or finance

• Interest incorporate tax strategy or regulatory compliance

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Curiosity about how tax impactsbusiness decisions and operations
