Overview Lead engineering at the intersection of embedded systems, automation, and high‑volume manufacturing for Lilly’s drug‑delivery devices and combination products. Drive design, development, commercialization and global automation of DDCS products. Key Responsibilities Set strategy and direction for embedded systems, joining technologies, automated assembly, part handling, and control architecture. Build, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineering managers and technical leaders. Define preferred assembly technologies, tooling, and automation standards, and integrate DFMA into device development. Oversee embedded electronics, firmware, and system integration. Lead automation and control strategy, PLC‑based architectures, safety, HMI, and cyber security. Provide technical oversight for integration and qualification of DDCS programs. Engage external system integrators, automation suppliers and other partners to ensure design controls. Model risk, process variability, and provide support for yield and reliability. Qualifications Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA with Bachelor’s) in Electrical, Manufacturing, Automation, Mechanical or related discipline. 10+ years of regulated industry experience and 5+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. Proven success with embedded electronics/firmware and mechanical joining technologies. Experience in process/automated assembly engineering and PLC‑based control systems. Strong knowledge of FDA design controls, ISO 13485/14971, IEC 60601/62304, data traceability and cyber security. Excellent communication, stakeholder influence, and ability to operate in a matrixed environment. Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range $163,500 – $239,800, eligible for company bonus and comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), pension, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs.
