This position provides Cause-Driven leadership in staff supervision, volunteer management, fiscal management, financial development, membership and program administration, facility & equipment stewardship, community relations and personal-professional development. Directly responsible for growing, managing and leading change of the budget and unit membership of their assigned locations.Essential Functions:Priorities:Achieve budget expectations annuallyMeet quarterly and annual outcomes and expectations of the Association Strategic PlanAttain the Annual Campaign financial expectationsDevelop and grow the District programs and services in quality and quantitySupervision and maintenance (through partnership with Property Team) of two YMCA locationsThe development and leadership of exempt staff leadersBudget and Financial Performance:Develops, manages, and monitors center operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Initiates and manages adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operationsProgram Development and Membership Engagement:Implements Association membership strategies that support the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Uses YMCA "listen first" skills to understand and respond to the needs, wants, and interests of members. Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfactionDevelops long-range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives. Monitors the achievements of these objectives and exercises appropriate action to assure the achievements of the objectives are of the highest quality programs and servicesEnsures safety, cleanliness and function of all related facilities and equipmentTeam Performance Toward Organizational Goals:Ensures all program operations are consistent with association procedures, including emergency, insurance, accident, purchasing, personnel, accounting and other administrative systemsRecruits, hires, trains, develops and leads employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Responsible for exempt staff and non-exempt employeesFundraising:Provides leadership and is accountable for achieving the Annual Giving CampaignRequirements:Leadership Competencies (Multi-Team Leader):Communication and InfluenceFiscal ManagementEngaging CommunityQualifications:Strong business operations background with a proven track record of producing growth and strong financial managementBachelor's degree in Human Services, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalentTen or more years of successful management experience, preferably in YMCA or other nonprofit agency in health and wellness fieldMust have previous experience working with diverse populationsSupervision of full and part-time employees with accountability of annual budgetsAbility to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizationsAbility to lead assigned operations including staff development and supervisionDevelopment and monitoring of budgets, membership and program development, financial marketing and public relations, board and volunteer developmentYMCA Multi Team Leader certification, preferredWorking Conditions:This role requires daily onsite work and occasional after-hours response; therefore, candidates must be able to reliably commute to the assigned location and reside within approximately 30 miles or 45 minutes of the worksite by their start date to meet operational needs.Requires a person of maturity and good judgement, who can operate with a minimum of guidance from the supervisorRequires ability to exercise appropriate independent judgement and make non-routine decisions regarding day-to-day operational issuesRequires effective team building and leadership skillsMust maintain cooperative, functional relationships with senior leadership team, peers, and subordinatesMust maintain a positive, energetic attitude toward YMCA work, goals and valuesMust have the ability to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, and to travel as needed for operational management with on-site presence managing major operational issuesMust have superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to respond to a wide variety of constituencies, including staff, volunteers, members, program participants, vendors and community leadersAbility to perform the duties of direct reports as neededEnvironmental Factors, Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:Physically able to successfully complete required job functions, including use of hands, arms, fingers, able to talk and hear, use a computer, sit and stand, regularly move/lift up to 50 pounds, enter all YMCA environments (office spaces, indoor and outdoor maintenance/mechanical areas, fitness areas, pool and pool space, camping areas, unimproved outdoor locations and other program areas)Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multitaskingPhysically able to successfully complete required certificationsAccountability:Accountable for completion of assigned goals as measured by the number of people served, cause-driven measures, service satisfaction scores, operating results, and supervisor evaluation of assigned duties.
