Worship Leader

TheWorshipLeaderis responsible forplanning and leading worship at student ministry services, retreats, and special events and lead worship Sunday evenings twice a month. The Worship Coordinator will demonstrate a high level of artistry/talentand preparedness,aspirit-filledpresence in front of others, a deep passion for students and worship, a willingness to partner with others, and a love for Jesus Christ. Primary Functions Student Ministry Worship Coordinate, oversee, and lead worship at PowerLife (junior high) and Ignition (high school) events to include Wednesday nights and retreats (3 overnight weekend retreats and 2 daytime retreats per school year) Plan music, schedule student teams, create resources, build tracks, upload lyrics, and facilitate rehearsal, coaching students Encourage both musical and spiritual development of the student worship team Build, equip, walk with, and pray for and with students Intentionally spend time with and invest in students outside of “normal” programming,specifically during summer months Recruit, develop, and build student worship team, schedule and facilitate auditions Partner with student ministry team to ensure vision alignment Sunday Night Worship Coordinate, oversee, and lead worship at the Sunday night worship service 2-3x/month Plan music, schedule teams, create resources, upload lyrics, and facilitate rehearsal, coaching team members Engage and walk with volunteers; build relationships Personal Responsibilities Adhere to Lutheran Church of Hope Staff Covenant for spiritual, personal and professional relationships and behavior Encourage and build others up (1 Thessalonians 5:11); handle conflict with confidentiality, sensitivity, and grace (Matthew 18) Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and personal learning Dress appropriately for the services at which you lead Be punctual and honor paid time Social media: post and share in ways that are reflective of Jesus, representing Lutheran Church of Hope and the larger church in ways that are attractive and inspiring; be sensitive and aware of those you lead and your influence Skills, Education and Experience Required Possess Christ-centered, joy-filled passion for ministry which flows from a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ 2+ years: leading worship, working with jr high and/or high school students Ability to lead, coordinate, and run effective worship team rehearsals with full band (bass, drums, guitars, keys, vocalists); highly proficient in multiple instruments and voice Proficient in individual leadership from an acoustic guitar Experience utilizing Planning Center (scheduling teams, creating charts, service planning), Pro Presenter (lyrics), and Ableton Live (creating and editing), preferred Strong organizational skills for administration and leadership of team-based ministry Commitment to always reflect in the best possible light Lutheran Church of Hope, its staff, and the mission, vision, and values of its Constitution, the larger body of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ, and all churches of every denomination Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week * This role may be one person doing both student ministry and Sunday night worship, but we are also open to having two part‑time staff: one covering student ministry, the other covering Sunday nights.
