Military Planner Senior

Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of the Senior Military Planner will be to direct and plan medium to large size DoD planning and asset management projects across the globe. Prepares, plans, and analyzes compliance documents. Direct the work of others in the completion of required studies, documents, and reports. Requires extensive meeting facilitation, stakeholder and agency coordination, strategic planning, and project programming experience.This position will require a US Passport and the ability to travel overseas as needed. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Lead multidisciplinary team to complete DoD planning studies and related documentation in accordance with DoD and Service-specific planning criteria and guidanceConduct facility and infrastructure requirements analyses and capacity assessmentsProject Planning – ability to develop successful project execution plans including storyboarding process and product expectationsFacilitate Installation Visioning, Planning, and Programming CharrettesSuccessfully collaborates in the exchange of information between stakeholders through effective written, graphic (CAD/GIS/SketchUp/Hand Sketches), and verbal communication.Builds consensus and support for planning proposals and coordinates efforts to bring stakeholders together with opposing views and interests in order to successfully manage projectsDevelop complete Installation, Area, and Component plansDevelopment Plans IAW applicable planning criteriaDevelop a Capital Investment Strategy IAW DOD Service and customer specific criteriaPreparation of complete DD Forms 1391Preparation of economic analysesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degreeAICP, RLA, PE, RA certificationLEED AP or higher (Recommended)Experience with and / or knowledge of:All aspects of community / installation planning and developmentPreparing Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 2-100-01 compliant plansMilitary installation and base operationsMilitary service organizational operationsFederal facilities acquisition strategies and policiesBusiness Case Analysis and DevelopmentAble to read, understand, and extract appropriate information from environmental documents such as an Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan, Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plan, Environmental Baseline Study, Environmental Assessment or Environmental Impact StatementMilitary range and training complexesFramework PlansDistrict / Area PlanningRegulating PlansForm based codeFacility requirements and standard designsEconomic analysisBasic utilities infrastructure systemsBasic transportation circulation systems#LI-MV3QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Urban Planning or closely related fieldA minimum of 10 years experience in environmental consulting with a successful track record of marketing, land development project management, staff management and client satisfaction; advance degree may offset years of experienceLeadership skills and ability to manage in a team environmentHighly motivated self-starterBusiness development skills and familiarity of local clients and marketsExcellent communication skillsMay require the ability to travelAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
