Primary Care Physician

PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN (Full‑time) University Medical Center, New Orleans, LA. GENERAL DUTIES Patient Care: Provide quality care to patients, conduct routine examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, administer immunizations per medical or school guidelines, maintain patient records, and respond to patient calls and messages. Observe patients for signs of abuse or neglect and report immediately in accordance with policy. Recognize emergencies and respond according to organizational policies and procedures. Patient Access: Participate in a physician call schedule evenly distributed among providers and offer patient meeting slots as designed. Safety and Infection Control: Assist with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement and other regulatory standards; implement standard and transmission‑based precautions; maintain a clean clinic environment; report safety hazards to the clinic manager or designee. Medical Director Duties (if applicable): Ensure provider compliance with patient access and care, communicate concerns and initiatives to administration, conduct provider assessments and reviews, and develop and maintain work and call schedules. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Completed residency training. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS Medical Physician Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. American Heart Association: Basic Life Support (BLS) – HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). ICD‑10 and CPT‑4 working knowledge. SKILLS & ABILITIES Clinical medical skills for primary care. Computer and software skills relevant to patient record management. WORK SHIFT Days (United States of America).
