Registered Nurse - Apheresis

Position Summary AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with apheresis experience to join our team supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland on a 13-week contract. This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional nursing care while working alongside world-class healthcare professionals in an environment dedicated to advancing patient care and medical research. Schedule Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week

7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

On-Call Requirements: Participation in weekend and holiday on-call rotation, including a minimum of one full weekend per month Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinical setting Perform patient assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and patient education Triage patient concerns and coordinate appropriate follow-up care Monitor patient conditions and communicate significant changes to providers Support chronic disease management and preventive health initiatives Coordinate referrals, consultations, and continuity of care Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans Maintain accurate documentation in NIH electronic health systems Follow all infection prevention, patient safety, privacy, and quality assurance standards Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited nursing program Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth Current BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital experience in apheresis Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities Excellent communication and patient education skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong organizational and documentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems Inclusion & Cultural Competency Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
