Description:

The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team. Responsibilities include planning and implementing patient and family education. Assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions is essential. Required qualifications include current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. Candidates must possess American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications. Certification in the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale is necessary. Pediatric advanced life support or the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification is also required. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Essential job functions include collecting comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health. Analyzing assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues is crucial. Identifying expected outcomes for patient care plans is expected. Developing and implementing plans of care that prescribe strategies to attain expected outcomes is necessary. Promoting health and a safe environment is a vital function. Continuously enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice is required. Evaluating one's own nursing practice in relation to professional standards is essential. Contributing to the professional development of peers is expected.
