RN - MS Tele

Registered NurseUnit is a 29-bed stepdown telemetry unit specializing in cardiopulmonary care. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. Common patient diagnoses include cardiac conditions, respiratory failures, post-operative lung surgeries, and post-cardiac catheterization. RNs are expected to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors. Respiratory therapy is available for CPAP and BiPAP management. Charge nurse supervises 24/7; days do not take patient assignments while nights do. Certified nursing assistants are present, ideally 1 CNA per 12 patients. The unit utilizes self-scheduling with schedules made 4-6 weeks in advance. Travelers are required to work every-other weekend. All staff participate in holiday rotation. Floating to other appropriate units may occur but travelers are not prioritized to float. Designated scrub color for RNs is royal blue.
