The Downstream Chemicals Team leverages our expertise to provide best-in-class technology and support to optimize process, finished fuels and water treatment applications within the refineries where we operate.

As a Refinery Chemical Technician , you will provide a vital service by managing, servicing, measuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting chemical treatment programs. You will be a vital team member supporting a large key customer account, responsible for ensuring they have the services and products required to operate safely and efficiently.

As a Refinery Chemical Technician , you are responsible for:

• Safely managing day-to-day operations of refinery process, finished fuels, and water treatment programs to ensure performance and value delivery for our customers
• Managing chemical inventories, chemical deliveries, field sampling, laboratory testing, injection system maintenance and reporting
• Supporting the development and installation of new systems and designs to apply our chemical products and technologies
• Collaborating with team members to drive technical sales and innovative solutions that bring value to our customers
• Identifying and coordinating numerous projects to support the application of our chemicals and programs in the field
• Monitoring and maintaining existing programs for customers to provide reporting on performance of applications with basic data and information
• Collaborating with team members to drive technical sales and innovative solutions that bring value to our customers

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, will require:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in refining, petrochemical or industrial setting
• Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and troubleshooting skills
• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties (motor vehicle record checks will be performed to determine eligibility to drive a company vehicle)
• A TWIC Card or ability to obtain a TWIC Card
• Residing in a commutable distance to Joliet, IL
