Electrical Project Manager

Our client, a growing electrical contractor in the Austin area, is seeking a Service Account Manager / Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical service projects from business development and estimating through project completion and closeout. This individual will act as the primary point of contact for clients, manage project execution, support business development efforts, and help drive revenue growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, building relationships, managing projects, estimating work, and helping grow a business. The position offers a unique blend of office, field, and client-facing responsibilities. Responsibilities Get the Work Conduct job walks and site assessments to develop project scopes. Identify customer needs and provide value-engineered solutions. Prepare electrical estimates using Accubid or similar estimating software. Develop and submit proposals to customers. Build relationships with existing and prospective clients. Support business development efforts and help generate new opportunities. Manage the Work Oversee projects from award through completion and closeout. Purchase materials and coordinate equipment procurement. Manage project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and documentation. Coordinate project handoffs to field teams and ensure successful execution. Monitor labor productivity and project profitability. Handle billing, invoicing, and project closeout activities. Client & Relationship Management Maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and industry partners. Attend networking events, lunches, and industry functions to strengthen business relationships. Serve as a trusted advisor by providing electrical solutions and excellent customer service. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Conduct job walks and site visits. Develop and manage electrical estimates. Meet with clients and identify new project opportunities. Perform project management duties, including RFIs and project tracking. Balance office-based documentation and field involvement. Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure successful project delivery. Support ongoing business development and customer relationship efforts. Required Qualifications 2-3+ years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager in commercial electrical construction. Experience managing projects from estimating through completion. Exposure to electrical estimating and bidding processes. Strong understanding of project budgets, schedules, and documentation. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Established network within the Austin market preferred. Must be local to the Austin area (relocation is not available). Preferred Qualifications Experience using Accubid or similar electrical estimating software. Existing customer relationships or client base within the Austin market.
