Job Summary
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in a healthcare facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves providing critical care to patients with diverse diagnoses, including sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA, cardiac arrest, withdrawal, and renal failure. The provider operates primarily during night shifts, offering an opportunity to work within a team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Details

• Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, two years of ICU experience, ability to float within the region including facilities in Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children's Hospital)
• Patient Care Responsibilities: Critical care infusion management (insulin, vasopressors, sedation), invasive line management (ART/CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube care, ventilator management, blood products administration, wound care/dressing changes
• Support Staff and Department Resources: CNA support, clinical supervisor, 24/7 phlebotomy and IV/VAT team, dedicated pharmacist, case managers, RT for nebulizer treatments, hospitalist on-site 24/7, intensivist until midnight, virtual/on-call critical care MD, nurse educator, unit clerk, charge nurse, and clinical supervisor
• Technology and Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Rover communication system, Hoyer lifts, gait belts, activity closet for confused patients
• Orientation: 2 days departmental, additional facility-specific orientation within the first few days
• Additional Notes: Scrub color is navy blue, parking is free, the unit fosters a teamwork and family-oriented culture. Floating to other listed facilities within the region is required as per operational needs, with travel time compensated.
