Patient Care Tech - PCU 4, Full-Time Days, VOLOL Camden

Job Summary Position under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Location Lourdes Health System – 1600 Haddon Ave (On‑Site) Position Responsibilities Supports activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assistance with mobility and transport. Demonstrates standard precautions, including care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice. Performs technical duties as directed by RN/LPN: vital signs, point‑of‑care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care specific to the population served, documenting appropriately. May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified. Identifies and communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately. Reinforces patient and family education regarding individual care needs and safety issues. Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and performance‑improvement activities. Assists in orientation of new hires. Position Qualifications Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards. Strong communication skills. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Completion of a PCT course, fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or at least 1 year of direct patient care experience. Training, Certifications and Licensure BLS certification. Phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions. Enhances skills through ongoing education and training; maintains regulatory and departmental level competencies.
