Plant Quality Manager

Responsibilities Coordinate activities to direct and control the organization’s quality processes at the JCI Hattiesburg AHU manufacturing facility. Oversee the Quality Management System and continuously monitor and improve its performance. Manage all quality efforts related to assembly areas in a cost‑effective manner and in accordance with business requirements. Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization by collecting and analyzing performance data against defined parameters. Develop and implement defect‑reduction plans, monitor effectiveness, and adjust as needed. Lead cross‑disciplinary teams to plan, formulate, and agree on comprehensive quality procedures, including APQP concepts. Interface with customers and customers’ auditors to resolve product issues and ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain ISO9001 registration, conduct training, revise documents, interface with the registrar, and lead management review meetings. Review design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation to confirm compliance with design and customer requirements. Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated; investigate product modifications when necessary. Evaluate discrepant materials, conduct MRB, and lead the plant management team in dispositioning materials and driving corrective actions. Work with Purchasing to establish and maintain quality requirements for external suppliers. Adjudicate vendor claims for recovery of monies resulting from vendor‑related quality problems. Recruit, retain, manage, and evaluate subordinate personnel to maintain a well‑qualified and motivated department. Qualifications BS in Engineering or an equivalent degree with an emphasis on Quality Management. Minimum 7 years of related experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment as a Quality Control Manager. ISO9001 lead auditor certification (required). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Minitab or similar statistical analysis software (preferred). ASQ CQM certification (preferred). Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred). Approximately 20% travel required. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $104,000 – $127,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
