Experience in caring for patients with advanced cardiac devices is necessary. Patients often require monitoring for hemodynamic instability. Skills in managing invasive lines and conducting hemodynamic monitoring are required. The unit cares for both cardiac and medical intensive care patients, as well as some step-down overflow. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills are required in this fast-paced environment. Floating to other units may be required based on patient census. Travelers must have a minimum of one year of recent experience with the relevant specialty. All travelers must complete pre-assignment testing and modules as required. Candidates with experience in charting systems, specifically Epic, are preferred. Demonstration of competencies will be assessed prior to assignment.
