General Summary :

The Business Banker is responsible for performing intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services; handles all teller transactional activity, processes all new account transactions; assisting customers in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross-selling the Bank's products and services; opening, maintaining and closing of all account types; performing branch clerical duties; promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The position of Business Banker also is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of new account opening, teller, and safe deposit.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

1. Provides support to all assigned areas of branch operations where service or assistance is needed, including platform area, teller line, and safe deposit.
2. Provide service delivery to internal/external customers to resolve account service issues.
3. Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures
4. Maintain a cash drawer to process client transactions.
5. Handle large sums of cash accurately and efficiently. Maintain Cash Limits. Perform all phases of teller work.
6. To achieve and maintain customer satisfaction through excellence in service delivery, follow up and problem resolution.
7. Assist consumer and business customers in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services available from the Bank; ensures cross-sell opportunities are presented by applying professional sales techniques.
8. Interviews customers to obtain information; establishes proper identification of new customers; determines need and extent of reference investigation.
9. Prepare for audits.
10. Alternate opening and closing branch with management.
11. Maintains a working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered. Takes responsibility to keep up to date and request assistance for further development needs.
12. Perform all other duties assigned by management.
13. Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets
14. Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Orange Bank & Trust, its clients assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Adhering to policy and procedures, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE:

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Associates Degree

Experience:

Required: Cash Handling Experience and 1 Year Customer Service Experience

Preferred: 2 Years Banking Experience and 1 Year Sales Experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of banking industry regulations as well as internal processes and controls, procedures and workflow specifically in loan operations and commercial closings.
• Ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as be able to work independently.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a proven track record of multi-tasking with a strong sense of urgency.
• Must be detail oriented and organized with excellent follow-up, written and verbal skills.
• Demonstrate ability to apply required regulatory and policy requirements when making decisions
• Knowledge of the bank policies and procedures for the teller line & customer service, and good judgment skills.
• An ability to handle change, stress and the pressures of daily activity when multi-tasking and working at a fast pace.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

1. Flexibility to work additional hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
2. Typically the noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
3. Will have high volume of interactions in person and over the telephone.
4. Fast-paced environment.
5. May experience occasional job stress in response to job demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

1. Frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
2. Frequently required to talk and hear.
3. Normal range of vision and hearing abilities required.
4. Mobility required greeting and assisting employees and visitors.
5. Frequently required to skillfully operate a computer, telephone and other standard office equipment.
6. Travel between all locations of the bank.
7. Occasionally travel outside of work location to attend meetings and training programs.
8. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
