Analytics Engineer

Moxxi Digital is hiring an Analytics Engineer based in New York, NY (onsite). In this role, you will build and own marketplace reporting data models and analytics workflows, including applying LLMs to analytics work, while measuring product and marketplace performance and maintaining strong data quality. Role Focus You will measure marketplace and product performance, ensure the correctness of the numbers the business uses, and support experimentation and measurement design as platform and product changes roll out. You will also help move the organization toward clearer KPI definitions and faster self-service reporting. Key Responsibilities Own marketplace reporting across publishers, advertisers, and verticals , ensuring business-critical metrics are correct. Build and maintain dbt models in the warehouse, including tests , managed in version control , and shipped to production . Investigate analytics anomalies end to end, including identifying what changed, why it changed, and what should be done next. Apply LLMs to analytics workflows, including context engineering and evaluation , in partnership with the Analytics Lead. Measure product work by defining success metrics for new features and journey changes, specifying required events to track, and reporting whether results matched expectations. Partner with operators to define KPIs so decision‑making centers on shared, agreed‑upon metrics. Build self-service reporting to reduce routine routing through the analytics team. Own data quality , including reconciliation across sources and validation designed to catch problems before consumers do. Support experimentation and measurement design as platform and product updates are introduced. Grow into quantitative optimization work, including improving modeling and the selection of offers and experiences served to each user session. Required Qualifications 3 to 5 years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or data science. Hands‑on experience building with LLMs against real data, including how you validated outputs for trustworthiness (demos and prompt experimentation alone are not sufficient). Production experience with dbt , including owning models, writing tests, working in Git, and shipping to production. Advanced SQL and practical working proficiency in Python . Experience with a cloud data warehouse: BigQuery preferred , with Snowflake or Redshift acceptable. Practical experience with data quality work: reconciliation across sources and validation of your own output. Ability to hold a business conversation: walk through an end‑to‑end question you pursued, what you expected, what you found, and what changed as a result. Comfort with ambiguity and a track record of choosing what to work on rather than waiting for instructions. Experience as the first or only data person at a company. Product analytics experience, including success metrics, event instrumentation, and measuring feature impact. Experimentation design and applied statistics. Exposure to bid optimization, yield management, or related decision-modeling work.
