Principal Missile Warning Systems Engineer

Salary: $98,400 - 184,200 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer with at least 5 years of directly related experience paired with a bachelors degree, 3 years with a masters degree, or 1 year with a doctorate; the degree must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
• We are seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer with at least 8 years of directly related experience paired with a bachelors degree, 6 years with a masters degree, or 4 years with a doctorate; the degree must be in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
• We need familiarity with automated test platforms, software loading utilities, diagnostic tools, and optical test equipment.
• We require proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection, along with a working understanding of signal integrity and power distribution concepts.
• We expect experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, and optical test equipment such as optical power meters, spectrum analyzers, and laser safety gear.
• We are looking for strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and deliver presentations.
• We need proven experience working in multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with external suppliers and customers.
• We require the ability to currently hold or maintain a U.S. Government Secret-level security clearance.
• Preferred experience includes work on laser warning, missile warning, or other threat detection systems that use optical detectors, lidar, or infrared sensors.
• Preferred tools experience includes Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or Cadence Allegro.
• Preferred systems modeling experience includes MATLAB/Simulink, model-based design, or SysML.
• Preferred clearance includes a Secret security clearance or higher.

• We capture, analyze, and maintain system-level requirements for the AAR-47 laser/missile warning system.
• We track parts life cycles, assess DMSMS risks, and recommend mitigation actions such as last-time buys, continued production, or redesign.
• We design, prototype, and test electronic assemblies, including PCBs, power modules, and I/O interfaces, for the system.
• We perform schematic capture, layout, and BOM creation using industry-standard tools such as Altium, Mentor, and Cadence.
• We work closely with embedded software and firmware teams to define electrical interfaces, timing, and data-link protocols.
