Grant Administration Intern
Clay County Administration | Spring 2027 | Unpaid Internship
Gain meaningful experience in county government while helping advance grant-funded projects, economic development initiatives, and community partnerships. Working directly with the Grant Coordinator, you will contribute to active projects and develop professional skills through hands-on assignments and mentorship.
What You'll Do
- Research federal, state, local, and private funding opportunities and summarize eligibility, deadlines, and project fit.
- Assist with updating Grant Intent & Tracking Forms (GITFs), organizing grant records, and maintaining the countywide grant calendar.
- Support planning for Clay County Economic Development Meetings, including materials, logistics, and partner communications.
- Research prospective community partners, sponsors, and funding opportunities for the 2027 Go North KC Sports Fest and other County initiatives.
- Assist with outreach tracking, professional correspondence, project coordination, and other assigned special projects.

What We're Looking For
- A college student with strong communication, research, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, initiative, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Anticipated January–May 2027. Scheduling and total hours are flexible and will be coordinated with the student's academic requirements, availability, and County needs. This is an unpaid position.
