Many employers share specifics during the interview process or after an initial screen.## Resume Keywords to IncludeMake sure these keywords appear in your resume to improve ATS scoringERPORProcurementSupply ChainCompensationComplianceContractsSpecialistSign up free to auto-tailor your resume with all these keywords and get a higher ATS score## Job descriptionLead Procurement SpecialistSTR is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and driven individual with a background in federal procurement to join our expanding Contracts & Supply Chain team as a Lead Procurement Specialist.In this exciting role, you will:* Oversee strategic procurement for defense and government initiatives, ensuring maximum efficiency and compliance.* Act as a subject matter expert on intricate DoD and Intelligence Community supply chain issues.* Mentor and cultivate the skills of team members, promoting professional growth.* Champion process excellence and continuously improve our procurement practices.* Help shape STR's procurement strategy to achieve measurable improvements in cost, schedule, and performance.Key Responsibilities:* Manage the complete procurement lifecycle from planning to closeout, adhering to company guidelines, FAR, and DFARS.* Collaborate closely with business, technical, and functional stakeholders to drive business growth and ensure robust program performance.* Build and maintain productive relationships with external vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to support program goals and strengthen STR’s business collaborations.* Conduct in-depth market research, supplier qualification, source selection, and cost/price evaluations.* Utilize purchasing and ERP systems to generate and manage purchase orders while ensuring compliance.* Maintain thorough and accurate procurement documentation in line with FAR, DFARS, and company requirements.* Leverage AI-enabled tools and commit to learning how to utilize AI to enhance quality and efficiency in Contracts and Supply Chain processes.* Propose and implement improvements to better scale and optimize procurement activities and practices.* Communicate effectively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders; respond promptly to inquiries regarding order status, changes, and returns.### Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience in Federal procurement, purchasing, or contracting (or a Master’s degree and 3 years).* Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance, requiring US Citizenship.* Proven experience in negotiations and supplier management.* Solid understanding of FAR, DFARS, and specific agency regulations, with the ability to interpret federal acquisition policies in context.* Knowledge of ITAR/EAR export controls and practices for counterfeit parts prevention.* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and efficient with strong analytical and business judgment skills; interested in optimizing procurement and contracting practices while ensuring compliance.* Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with customers, partners, and colleagues across all levels.* Eagerness to broaden expertise across other Supply Chain areas as well as Contracts.### CompensationFull-Time Salary Range: $93,000.00 - $117,000.00The salary range reflects external market data.
