Cardiac Cath/IR Lab Technologist

Description of Position: 2 room Cardiac Cath/IR Lab with approx 5 cases per day. Experience with LHC/RHC/Devices/Impella insertion/Structural Heart procedures. Cardiac lab that recently took on IR and looking for a candidate with experience in IR for Ports/Nephrostomy tubes/ESI/Lumbar punctures/Thoracentesis/Chest tube/Paracentesis/various biopsy procedures, etc.

Qualifications/Experience: CVT, RCIS, or RT with 2 years of experience in scrubbing Cath/IR/EP procedures. Education: 2 years Cath lab experience or graduate of a credentialed cardiovascular program. Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Science Exam. Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam.

License(s)/Certification(s): Current CVT,RCIS, or RT (R) Current BCLS/ACLS required

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

• Ability to scrub procedures in Cath/IR Lab, preferred EP experience for future growth.
• Comfortable scrubbing STEMIs Setup sterile table with adequate supplies for the scheduled procedure.
• Proficient at scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and maintaining the sterile field.
• Prepping and draping appropriate site per protocol. Connect flush, contrast pressure lines, and prepare sterile field according to physician's preference and protocol.
• Conduct procedure according to the patients and physicians' needs. Inform other team members of equipment or medication used or needed.
• Secure sheath or sheaths according to appropriate sheath protocol per patient post procedure.
• Perform sheath removal and access site closure with (AngioSeal, Mynx devices) and manual pressure.
• Assist with patient transfer and transport as needed.
• Record patient information in Xper and Meditech Assist with patient and equipment care in preparation of procedure.
• Remains attentive, immediately reports EKG and hemodynamic changes.
• Records hemodynamic data at various speeds and ranges as specified. Computes all hemodynamic studies as requested, generate reports, and distribute to the physician.
• Review charts for accurate charges.
• Follows guidelines and protocol for radiation safety. Adheres to protocol designed to reduce radiation exposure.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Cath Lab Director/Manager Assists in the assessment of the department's efficiency by participating in the Quality Improvement process.

Shift: Mon-Fri 0700-1730 with call as needed
