About the Position

Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical Telemetry (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5, with potential to stretch to 1:6
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and respond appropriately to cardiac arrhythmias and other changes in patient condition
• Care for patients presenting with conditions including vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery, peripheral vascular disease, sepsis, GI bleeds, chest tubes, and atherosclerosis
• Operate unit equipment including Pyxis, Alaris Pumps, Bladder Scanners, EKGs, Atrium Chest Tubes, Dinamaps, and Vein Finders
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Float to similar Med-Surg units or other hospital areas (PCU/ED) as needed for overflow of same patient types

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Demonstrated telemetry experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical bariatrics or cardiac care
• Background in vascular surgery nursing
• Proficiency with wound vac and complex dressing changes
