Step into a contract position supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs as a Cognitive Impairment (CI) Teacher in an ASD-focused classroom environment. This onsite role is tailored for individuals passionate about facilitating growth for students facing significant self-regulation and communication challenges, including those with complex mental health needs. Serving at a specialized education center, you’ll work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team employing collaborative strategies and innovative resources.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid CI (Cognitive Impairment) teaching certification required
• Experience in classroom settings serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) highly preferred
• Proficiency in crisis management and working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems desired
• In-depth understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and supporting students with complex emotional and mental health needs
• Strong commitment to communication, collaborative problem-solving, and fostering a growth-oriented atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to elementary students with cognitive impairments, focusing on self-regulation, social skills, and communication
• Implement classroom management strategies that support emotional and behavioral development
• Utilize AAC tools and evidence-based interventions to enhance student participation and learning
• Collaborate actively with multidisciplinary teams—including therapists, counselors, and support staff—to develop and follow student success plans
• Engage with families, participate in IEP meetings, and provide expertise in adapting curriculum and teaching methods
• Maintain a structured classroom schedule: 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
