JOB TITLE : Maintenance Mechanic DEPARTMENT : Maintenance REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt. SUPERVISORY ROLE (Y/N): N TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: None Pay Range: $21.93-$33.36 DOE JOB SUMMARY
- Accountable for the timely installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex plant equipment and facilities that are instrumental in the efficient functioning of automated production lines and a manufacturing facility operating on a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation.
- The incumbent is assigned jobs by the supervisor and is expected to complete most jobs, including those of a complex nature, with little to no supervision
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, dryers, mixers, and packaging machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and equipment malfunctions in a timely and safe manner.
- Fabricate, weld, or modify parts and components as needed.
- Assist with equipment installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to established schedules.
- Maintain detailed maintenance and repair logs in ERP/CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
- Work collaboratively with electricians, operators, and supervisors to support production goals.
- Ensure compliance with all codes, safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and food safety standards.
- Understand the basics of electricity. Wire 3 phase motors and basic trouble shooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and ability to assist with minor electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Welding and fabrication experience (TIG/MIG/Stick).
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Preferred 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Physically able to lift 50 LBS, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as production demands require.
