About the Position

Job Title: Level 4 RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years in OB, Labor and Delivery, and/or Postpartum License: Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: - At least 3 years of experience working in OB, Postpartum, and/or Labor and Delivery - Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing - BLS certification - NRP certification - STABLE certification Description: The position requires a professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching. Care is to be based on the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. The individual will act as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families. Collaboration with other healthcare members is essential. Participation in the orientation process of new personnel may be required. Involvement in health center and department committees is encouraged. The staff nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients. Establishing a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data is necessary. The plan of care must be communicated to all involved disciplines. Implementation and evaluation of the plan of care based on identified patient goals are vital. Modifications to the plan of care should be made based on reassessment of the patient's status. Documentation must adhere to established standards and utilize appropriate tools. Assessing the readiness of the patient and significant others for learning is crucial. An individualized education plan should be implemented according to patient needs. Active participation in nursing department initiatives is expected. Providing age-appropriate care for the specific population served is required. All functions must comply with established policies, procedures, and applicable professional standards. Providing excellent service to all customers consistently is essential.
