Job Description

Hours:  7p-7:30a (3-12-hour shifts); Weekend Rotation Required 

Location:   Henry Ford Medical Center - Sterling Heights 3500 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48310 

 

Henry Ford Medical Center – Sterling Heights is a full-service medical center with providers specializing in adult and pediatric primary care, as well as allergy, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, vascular surgery and sleep disorders. Other on-site services include laboratory, radiology and a pharmacy. Also offered at this site is a 24/7 emergency department and a walk-in clinic for non-emergency medical concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process to deliver quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations to inform clinical decision-making
• Develop and execute effective nursing care plans that address patient needs and support positive health outcomes
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability for all patient care activities
• Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements
• Communicate pertinent patient and family information clearly to the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, safe care delivery
• Identify and implement solutions for variances from established patient goals and care plans
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient safety and quality outcomes

Qualifications

REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS

:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to develop and implement effective nursing care plans
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Demonstrated ability to assess, prioritize, and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced emergency environment

 

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS

:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum 1+ years of clinical experience in an Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit setting
• Experience with emergency nursing protocols and trauma care
• Advanced certification in emergency nursing (CEN) or critical care nursing (CCRN)
