Summary

Department: Float Staffing

Shift Timings: 07:00-19:30 Hours. Monday to Friday (3 Days/12 Hours)

Per Week: 36 Hours

​Current staffing levels of 15 med/tele RNs on day shift support 90 inpatients, while night shift staffing levels of 18 support 108 inpatients. Inpatient holds in ED average at 20-26, while regional loss due to capacity constraints average 2-3 patients per day (roughly 50 to 65 patients per month). With this request for 6 new day shift positions, we will work as we onboard these med/surg nurses to decrease the 5.4 FTE’s, 6 RN’s, from the ER. "​​

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
