This contract opportunity for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter will focus on one-on-one support for a PreK student, offering a consistent schedule of 30 hours per week through the end of May 2027. The role is designed for individuals passionate about fostering accessibility and equity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification and credentials
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
• Previous experience in educational or child-centered settings preferred
• Strong grasp of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and communication standards
• Collaborative spirit and readiness to work closely with educators, therapists, and administrators
• Flexibility to adapt to dynamic classroom and school needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one interpreting for a PreK student, ensuring clear and age-appropriate communication
• Facilitate language access in instructional settings, school activities, and group interactions
• Interpret for meetings, classroom activities, and school-wide events as needed
• Help implement accommodations and strategies outlined in the student’s IEP
• Maintain accurate interpretation and support records
• Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and the student’s family to maximize student engagement and success
• Uphold professional standards, consistent with educational guidelines and ethical practices
