Join Sentara Health’s interdisciplinary Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team , providing expert psychiatric care to medically complex and emergent patients across Sentara’s facilities. You’ll work closely with ED, medical, and surgical teams, supported by licensed therapists, behavioral health navigators, and a systemwide psychiatric response network.

Practice Highlights

• Primary assignment at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital  
\n
• Schedule: 7 on/ 7 off (7a-7p)
\n
• Daily co-management of ED behavioral health patients
\n
• Inpatient consults on behavioral, medical, and surgical units
\n
• Virtual consult support to lower-volume facilities
\n
• No inpatient psych admissions (handled by dedicated inpatient psychiatrists)
\n
• Strong interdisciplinary support: APPs, therapists, navigators, case managers
\n

Key Responsibilities

• Psychiatric consultation for complex medical and co-occurring conditions
\n
• Diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
\n
• Medication management and crisis intervention
\n
• Collaborative, team-based care across hospital services
\n
• Supervision of APPs and students as needed
\n
