Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical (Travel)

Location: Utica, NY 13502
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift: Day Shift – 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
⚠️ Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Weekly Gross Pay: $1,800 – $2,160

Position Overview

A hospital is seeking an experienced Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced inpatient setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and prior travel nursing experience.

Unit Details

• Unit: Medical-Surgical (MS)

• Floating Required: Yes

• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

• Patient Population: Adult patients

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Post-surgical recovery

• Abdominal pain

• Cholelithiasis

• Osteoarthritis

• Fractures

• Back pain

• Morbid obesity (including bariatric surgery patients)

Equipment & Skills Utilized

• IV pumps

• Nasogastric (N/G) tubes

• Feeding tubes

• Medication administration and monitoring

• Post-operative assessments and wound care

• Accurate documentation and interdisciplinary communication

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License

• BLS Certification (AHA preferred)

• Minimum 2+ years of recent Medical-Surgical experience

• Documented travel nursing experience required

• Strong assessment, time-management, and floating capability
