Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager

The person our service team will be built around Venture Point is an independent property and casualty agency in Hartford. We launched in July 2025 and have grown quickly since. Our strong carrier network gives clients real choice and gives our account managers real markets to work with. Our producers specialize in real estate, construction, manufacturing, and Main Street businesses, and we run on Applied Epic. Our producers are bringing in new business faster than our current team can service it. We're hiring the person who makes sure every client is served well, every renewal is handled on time, and the business we write stays on the books. How we work with clients We compete on relationships and service, not on being the cheapest quote. We're responsive. Clients reach a person who knows their account, and calls and emails are answered the same business day. We're proactive. Every commercial client gets a real coverage review before renewal, not just a renewal invoice. We act with integrity. We tell clients the truth about their coverage, even when the answer is a smaller policy or a higher premium. When we make a mistake, we tell them and fix it. We're building for the long term. We want clients who stay for decades, and keeping them is how we measure ourselves. We want an experienced commercial lines account manager, ideally on Applied Epic, who wants more than a book to service. The role is about 80% commercial lines and 20% personal lines. You'll build our service operation, train the people we hire next, and then lead them. Why this role is different from the national brokers A growth path in writing. Our plan is to promote you to Service Manager / Account Management Lead within 12–24 months as we add account managers and CSRs. Our next service hire will be a dedicated personal lines account manager, and you'll help hire and train them. You'll build the service operation instead of inheriting one. You'll shape how we use Applied Epic: workflows, activity codes, the renewal calendar, and service standards. Direct access to ownership. There are no regional layers, and decisions take days, not quarters. We pay for your growth. We cover licensing, CE, and CIC, CISR, CPCU, and AINS courses and exams. What you'll do Service an assigned book of small and middle-market commercial accounts (real estate owners, contractors, manufacturers, and Main Street businesses) from new-business setup through renewal, working with our producers (about 80% of the role) Service personal lines clients, many of them our business owners: home, auto, umbrella, and valuable articles (about 20%, until we hire a dedicated personal lines account manager) Run renewals 90–120 days out: gather exposures, prepare and send submissions to markets, compare quotes, and prepare proposals Handle daily service: endorsements, certificates, auto ID cards, audits, billing, cancellations, and reinstatements Advocate for clients on claims with carriers and adjusters Support producers on new business with quoting, marketing, and onboarding Round out accounts by spotting gaps in umbrella, cyber, EPLI, and owners' personal lines coverage Keep Applied Epic accurate: activities, attachments, policy and line detail, and downloads As the team grows, train new hires, write our procedures, and lead workflow and quality control What you bring Required An active Property & Casualty producer license. If you're licensed in another state, you must get a Connecticut license within 30 days. 3+ years as an account manager or CSR at an independent agency or broker, mostly in commercial lines Solid knowledge of package/BOP, GL, property, commercial auto, workers' comp, and umbrella Strongly preferred Day-to-day Applied Epic experience. Epic is our system, and Epic users get up to speed fastest. Strong account managers coming from AMS360, Sagitta, HawkSoft, or EZLynx are welcome, and we'll train you on Epic. Experience in one or more of our niches: real estate (habitational and commercial property, location schedules, lender requirements); construction (contractors' GL, builder's risk, equipment, subcontractor certificates, additional insured and waiver requirements); manufacturing (products liability, business income, workers' comp audits); Main Street businesses (BOPs and package policies) A designation (CIC, CISR, CPCU, AINS) or progress toward one Experience training or mentoring teammates We'll also consider strong personal lines account managers who have real commercial experience and are ready to make commercial their main focus. Pay and benefits Base salary: $75,000 – $100,000, depending on experience. Where you land depends on years of commercial lines experience, Applied Epic fluency, designations, and experience training others. Annual bonus: target of 5% of base, up to 8%, based on client retention, account rounding, new business referred, and service quality, and funded by agency results Annual compensation review Leadership track: Service Manager / Account Management Lead at roughly $95,000–$110,000 as the team grows Licensing, CE, and designation course and exam fees paid (CIC, CISR, CPCU, AINS) Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with Venture Point paying 85% of the premium for employee-only coverage 401(k) with a 4% employer match Hybrid schedule: 3 days a week in the office after a 90-day onboarding period Venture Point is an equal opportunity employer.
