The nursing assistant/patient care tech assists in patient care throughout all nursing areas, including ADL support, patient transport, documentation, and safety monitoring. Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities Assist patients with ADL’s according to hospital procedures, and report all abnormal findings to the Registered Nurse in charge. Assist with ambulation of patients and use assist devices as appropriate to protect patient and staff. Assist with restocking rooms and maintain a safe, clean environment following infection control policies. Document vital signs, weights, activity, intake and outputs, and ADL care in the computer system. Qualifications Education Must be actively enrolled in high school or an equivalent program with a current CNA certification, or have a high school diploma or equivalent. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. Basic Skills and Abilities Basic computer knowledge. Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Ability to move and lift patients and use appropriate equipment; communicate effectively and document information accurately.
