Registered Nurse - PACU

Summary Goldbelt Glacier Health Services is looking for a Registered Nurse - PACU. Responsibilities Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness. Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF. Perform physical exam and health histories. Provide health promotions, counseling, and education. Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions. Guide and advise care provided by other healthcare professionals. Account for making patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel. Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency situations. Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans and actions, and to provide teaching/education that benefits the patient, family, and organization. Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate. Perform nursing services identified in the TO. Conduct research to support improved practice and patient outcomes. Coordinate and communicate with facility staff members to facilitate patient care. Collect, interpret, record, and communicate pertinent patient data relevant to the patient’s care before, during, and after surgery. Actively observe patients and take appropriate action when problems arise. Accurately review and confirm completeness of patient chart and report any abnormalities to appropriate staff in a timely manner. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications Excellent oral communication skills for patient/family education and telephone triage of patients. Telephone and in‑person assessment/evaluation includes determining optimal time and location for patient management (ER, clinic, homecare) and follow‑up care, and prescribing and communicating treatment plans and patient teaching according to established protocols. Excellent written communication skills for accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity, including telephone contacts, in accordance with requirements. Associate’s Degree of Nursing or equivalent graduate credential from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Minimum of two years of Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience within the last three years. ALS and PALS certifications maintained in current status at all times while performing services under this contract at no expense to the Government. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Pay and Benefits The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $97,000.
