MA Noncertified- Dylan Lindsay PA Orthopedics, Full time Locations Uintah Basin Medical Cntr Roosevelt, UT 84066, USA Description Job Summary Provides patient care in the office setting. Provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Physician, PA, or NP. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures, and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about the patient's clinical condition. Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates competency in the following areas. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Physician and/or N.P., P.A. Calls patients into the room for examination. Obtains weight, blood pressure, temperature, including pulse, and respiration when needed. Reviews the patient's chart, records and obtains the patient's symptoms, makes observations, listens, answers questions, and reassures. Obtains past medical history and family history as appropriate. Obtains or reviews the medications the patient is currently taking and records any allergies. Records all of the above information in the patient's chart and signs. Assists physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations as necessary. Assists patient on and off exam tables and into and out of wheelchairs. Sets up for procedures to be done, i.e., removal of lesions, suturing of wounds, casting fractures, dressing burns, and assists with these procedures. Obtains UAs when ordered - does dip urine PRN. Keeps examination rooms clean, neat, and organized. Keeps supplies, equipment, and instruments in place and ready for use. Cleans, sterilizes, or sanitizes all instruments after each use. Makes up packs for excisions, suturing of lacerations, and treating burns. Maintains infection control standards for exam/procedure rooms; cleans and disinfects, changes linen, etc. Orders all medical supplies for patient care; dressings, cleansing solutions, drape sheets, table paper, splints, braces, cast material, etc. Keeps all supplies in stock, keeps instruments and equipment up-to-date and in working order, and repairs or replaces as necessary. Orders topical, oral, or injectable medications for stock supplies and keeps them updated. Keeps emergency meds updated. Replaces as used. Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers, physicians, and the Office Manager. Remains at the clinic, available to assist the physician until all patients are cared for. Interacts professionally with patients and family and involves patients and family in patient education. Hands out education materials when able and the situation warrants. Gives out specific diets as ordered by the physician. Meets current documentation standards and policies. Maintains established office policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment, and infection control standards. Professional Requirements Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times. Excellent attendance record. Wears appropriate clothing for job functions. Wears ID badge. Maintains a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, administration, and staff. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
