The Medical Assistant will primarily work in our [location] clinic and will support physicians through a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Podiatry or orthopedic experience and X-ray experience are highly valued. Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for appointments and ensure comfort in exam rooms Complete patient intake including medical, social, and surgical histories Obtain vital signs and document accurately in athenahealth EMR Assist physicians during exams and procedures, including taking X-rays Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam and X-ray rooms Sterilize equipment according to clinical standards Conduct health assessments with Upperline Plus patients Perform telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care Support care coordination activities such as scheduling and referrals Travel to nearby clinics as needed Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred X-ray experience a plus Care coordination or care management experience preferred Experience working with geriatric patients is ideal Strong computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology Experience with EMR systems; athenahealth preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service mindset Reliable transportation required Compassionate, service-driven individuals who enjoy helping others, value teamwork, and want long-term stability in a growing, mission-driven healthcare organization.
