TAB Technician Responsibilities

• Perform Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of commercial HVAC air and water systems
• Review TAB plans, construction drawings, submittals, and project specifications
• Perform on-site testing, measurements, adjustments, and system verification
• Accurately document readings, deficiencies, and system anomalies
• Prepare clear and complete field documentation
• Communicate deficiencies and project concerns promptly
• Work professionally with clients, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and other project partners
• Support project schedules while maintaining AET’s standards for safety, quality, and accuracy
• Maintain and properly care for company-issued testing equipment

TAB Technician Qualifications

• Previous TAB, HVAC, engineering, commissioning, or related field experience
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC system design and construction
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Accurate documentation and organizational skills
• Professional communication and customer-service skills
• Current TAB certification or the ability to obtain certification
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to 75% of the time
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Dependable work ethic and professional attitude

TAB Trainee Responsibilities

No previous TAB experience is required for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity to learn a specialized and respected trade within the commercial HVAC industry.

As a TAB Trainee, you will:

• Work alongside experienced TAB Technicians
• Assist with air and water system testing and balancing
• Learn how to use specialized testing instruments
• Help record equipment information, readings, adjustments, and deficiencies
• Learn to read construction drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements
• Participate in training and work toward industry certification
• Travel to commercial construction projects as assigned

TAB Trainee Qualifications

• Interest in HVAC, construction, engineering, mechanical systems, or skilled trades
• Willingness to learn and accept hands-on training
• Strong attention to detail
• Dependable attendance and work ethic
• Good communication and people skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to 75% of the time
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of commercial construction work

• Schedule: M-F, Occasional Saturday
• Travel Expenses/Per Diem: Expenses Paid Weekly, Per Diem by the day.
