Credit Analyst
Credit Analyst needed for a mortgage company in Garden Grove CA. This is an ON-SITE Temporary to Hire position. Target start date of 1/12/2026. Pay rate is $21.65/hr. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Must pass a drug and background check, which may include credit check, as required prior to start. Ideal candidate is a detail-oriented Credit Analyst to facilitate the credit investigation and verification process. This role is pivotal in supporting mortgage underwriting by analyzing credit data, resolving discrepancies, and providing high-level operational support to our production team. You will serve as a key point of contact for clients and consumers, ensuring all credit information is accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit Analysis: Review and analyze credit files to identify missing data or causes for changes in credit scores; ensure all information aligns with mortgage underwriting requirements.
- Verification Services: Research the internet and utilize official databases to obtain necessary documentation for verification requests.
- Customer Support: Handle inbound calls from consumers and clients, resolving inquiries and complaints with a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Data Management: Perform word processing, general correspondence, and high-accuracy data entry to update credit reports.
- Operational Liaison: Interface directly with customers to provide status updates and problem resolution regarding their credit investigations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a Credit Analysis or Call Center environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in mortgage banking, credit reporting, or loan servicing is highly preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma required; a Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic typing speed of at least 25 WPM and proficiency in web-based research.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on "customer-first" service.
- Compliance: Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check (including a credit check) prior to the January 2026 start date.
