Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sonographer in the Cath Lab/EP specialty is responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures, including echocardiograms and vascular studies, to assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment. The role requires efficient operation of ultrasound equipment and effective collaboration with medical staff.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams, including TTE, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux, and carotid dopplers.
• Assist physicians during radiology procedures such as pericardiocentesis, thrombin injections, and vein mapping.
• Manage workload efficiently, prioritize urgent cases, and communicate pending exams to team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and ensure timely charges and reporting.
• Operate and care for ultrasound equipment, adhering to safety and infection control policies.
• Respond promptly to on-call callbacks and assist in various radiology areas when needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound technologist experience, specifically in Echo and Vascular procedures.
• Proven ability to perform Echo with Definity Contrast and other advanced vascular studies.
• Must hold Active ARDMS Certification and BLS certification through AHA.
• Ability to start IV lines independently.
• MediTech EMR experience preferred.
• Willingness to work outside local area, with distances exceeding 90 miles from Batesville.
